Tips & Tricks for Caring for Your Delicate swimwear
Our products are made to last. Every season, we design a trendy collection with a timeless look. Nevertheless, proper care of your swimwear is important. With proper care, your items will stay in perfect condition, so you can enjoy them season after season.
Avoid harsh detergents to keep the fabric looking like new
Just as the harsh chemicals in detergent can damage your skin, they can also be harmful to your swimwear. The substances in some laundry detergents can be corrosive to the fabric, which ultimately compromises the shape, color, and elasticity of your swimwear. We recommend using a mild detergent or a special swimwear detergent to prevent damage.
Rinse after a swim in the pool to prevent chlorine damage
Whether you’ve been swimming in chlorinated water, the ocean, or a lake, rinse your swimwear with cold water immediately after use. This removes salt, sand, sunscreen, and chemicals that can damage the fabric. The best time to do this is right after you’ve taken off your swimwear. By rinsing away chlorine and salt residue right away, you help keep the fabric in top condition. This preserves the color, elasticity, and fit, and easily extends the lifespan of your swimwear.
Hand Wash & Air Dry
Always hand-wash your swimwear in lukewarm water. Use a mild soap and rinse thoroughly. Gently squeeze out the excess water without wringing it. As tempting as it may be at times, wringing motions can damage the fabric and distort its shape. We strongly advise against using the washing machine; the rough drum and the intensity of the cycle can cause distortion, snags, or even small holes in the fabric. The dryer is also not an option. The heat causes loss of color and elasticity. For best results, let your swimwear air dry, laid flat on a towel and out of direct sunlight. This will help your swimwear retain its shape, color, and quality—summer after summer.
Protect your swimwear from rough surfaces
It’s natural to sit on the pool edge, in the sand, or on rocks, but these rough surfaces can swimwear. Abrasive surfaces can cause wear and tear and small fuzz balls, also known as pilling. We recommend that you always sit on a towel if the surface is rough. Choose a large, soft, matching towel for extra comfort!
Be Careful with Sunburn
Sunscreen is essential for protecting your skin, especially during long days in the sun. But did you know that sunburn can also cause stains on your swimwear? So always let the lotion absorb completely before putting on your bikini or swimsuit. This gives your skin a chance to absorb the lotion and prevents the fabric from soaking up the sunscreen. Also, be extra careful when applying sunscreen at the pool or on the beach. The heat can cause sunscreen to melt more quickly and seep into the fabric. Did sunscreen get on your swimwear after all? Rinse it out as soon as possible with cold or lukewarm water. This will prevent the sunscreen from seeping into the fibers and causing permanent stains or discoloration.

Let your swimwear rest—that way, the fit will stay perfect
If you’re bringing multiple bikinis or swimsuitss with you on vacation, it’s a good idea to rotate them. That way, each piece gets a chance to dry properly, and the elasticity and fit are preserved longer. Rotating your outfits isn’t just practical—it’s also fun: it lets you easily mix and match colors and designs.
