Bikini doesn't quite fit? Discover your sister sizes

You’ve found a CYELL-bikini that you’re totally in love with. The color or print suits you perfectly, and the style looks amazing. But the size feels just a little too tight. Or the other way around: the cups fits nicely, but you’d prefer the top to hug your body a bit more snugly.

Before you start looking for a different style, it’s a good idea to try a sister size. A small change in size and cup size can make all the difference for a comfortable, flattering fit.

What are sister sizes?

Sister sizes are bikini sizes with roughly the same cup volume but a different band size. This allows you to adjust the fit without immediately losing or gaining too much room in the cup.

At CYELL, you’ll find bikini tops in sizes such as 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, and 46, combined with various cup sizes. Depending on the style, cup sizes go up to F.

How do sister sizes work?

With a sister size, you’re not just changing the band size of your bikini top, but also the cup size. That might sound surprising, but the band size and cup size are proportional to each other. If you choose a larger band size, you’ll need a smaller cup letter to maintain roughly the same cup volume. If you choose a smaller band size, you’ll go up one cup letter.

For example, if you normally wear size 40C, but does your bikini top feel just a little too tight all around your body? Then you can try size 42B. You’ll choose one size larger for some extra room all around and, at the same time, go down one cup size.

Is size 40C a bit too loose around your body, while the cup seems to fit nicely? Then try size 38D. The band size is smaller, so it fits a little tighter. By choosing a larger cup size at the same time, the cup volume stays about the same.

Here’s an easy way to remember it:

One band size larger = one cup size smaller
40C → 42B

One band size smaller = one cup size larger
40C → 38D

That’s why 38D, 40C and 42B are sister sizes. The cup volume is roughly the same, while the fit around your body varies. This way, you can discover for yourself which combination gives you the most comfortable and flattering fit.
